V. Nona Ogunsula is a songwriter and musician who has been writing
songs since her early teens. A native of Oakland, California and
influenced by the music of gospel greats including the Hawkins Family
and the Clark Sisters, she also listened to artists like Sergio Mendes,
Roberta Flack and the sounds of the "Quiet Storm" of 102.9 FM
in Oakland, CA. Nona has been active in the music ministry of the church
as a Youth Choir Director, Assistant Minister of Music, Minister of
Music and Praise and Worship Leader.
This seasoned professional has over 20 years of experience
in marketing and program management in the private and public sector.
Over 10 of those years were spent in sales and marketing positions at
AT&T. In 2001, she founded the non-profit organization, FOR THIS
CAUSE, Inc., (http://www.forthiscause.org), to promote breast cancer awareness
and health programs in the Washington , D.C. metropolitan area. She developed and sustained strong partnerships with volunteers and sponsors
from the business, faith-based, and government communities, such as
Safeway Food Stores, Inc., The Office On Women's Health , U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services, and Comcast Cable
Communications. Nona has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree
from Howard University and a Masters of Business Administration from the
University of Pittsburgh. |
